Bunking Party

We were going to Hot Springs a couple of weekends ago and so we decided to bring DKC with us for a bunking party at Babe and Poppy's house. The girls did great together!! They put on their bathing suits and got right in the pool and played until dark. Babe made them dinner and let them eat out on the deck. When they came in they played a little and then watched a movie together piled up in Babe and Poppy's bed. The next morning we had to go back to Hope so we loaded up but DKC said "I am not ready to go home". We had to visit uncle Trevor at the dentist office for a little check up. After that we went back to DKC's and played on the swing set for a little while. They are just so cute together and I love when they play well together --- makes for a much more enjoyable time together. I can't wait for the next bunking party!

Turner gets fed!!!

So I gave in a little early. Turner got cereal 1 week before his 6 month birthday because I was going to begin letting him cry it out at night and I wanted to be sure that his little tummy was full and that he was not really hungry. So I started him on cereal. I assure you that he loved every bite that he took. You would have thought he had been eating for months. He never missed a bite.

Frog Camp

Maggie had her first day of Frog Camp on June 15, 2010. She has never gone to a daycare, preschool or anywhere besides to her Mimi's (her babysitter/in town grandmother). This was a big day for both Maggie and me. I felt like she was all grown up! It is two days a week at our church from 9-2. It is a good transition to her going to preschool this fall. It is also Tuesday and Thursday from 9-2 but it is more structured than Frog Camp. Anyways so I made her a lunch -- which included her sandwich cut like a butterfly and a note from Mommy that said "I love you". I remember my mom used to put notes in my lunch so had to carry on the same tradition.

They basically had to peel her off of me the first day but when I picked her up they said she had had a great day and even took a nap for them. I didn't think would ever happen. Every day that she had been has gotten easier and better. I am so proud of my little Maggie!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend we went to Hot Springs with two of our very good friends Sherry and Jackson. They had never been to Lake Hamilton so I was sure that we could show them a good time. We went Saturday morning to the farmers market and then we shopped a few stores. We got home and went out on the lake. Maggie had a great time swimming in the lake this year and she was much better about wearing her life jacket. Turner just went to sleep which is exactly what Maggie did at that age. We went and bought a tube to have just a little bit more fun!!! It has been two summers since I got to tube since I was pregnant last summer. I was more excited than anyone!! Maggie got to tube for the first time with me. It was pretty neat having my daughter experience something that I love to do so much!!! Sunday we had people over and watched the fireworks. We had a great day and loved being with friends.

Monday we went downtown and ate at the Pancake House and then came back to pack up. Maggie and Jackson were playing in the bedroom. Jackson came out and told us he had locked the door. So I called Maggie to the door and tried to tell her how to get out. She was very hysterical when she realized she was locked in there. After moments of panic from everyone I started going to the window to calm her down and letting her know we would get her out somehow. I pushed M&M's under the door but she was having no part in that. Finally we called Pop A Lock and 911. Meanwhile she was at the window telling me she loved me and I was just wanting to cry seeing her so sweet and scared. So when she heard someone trying to get in the door she was yelling "Help, Help" and the man from Pop A Lock said " I will get you out little girl". When he finally got the door open and Maggie calmed down she said "That man rescued me!". Jackson felt so bad for locking the door but Pop A Lock saved the day. I think if he had not come fast enough Poppy would have busted the door down or a window open. Memories Memories

Turners First Swim

Turner got into the pool for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We went to a friends house who also has a little boy 2 weeks older than Turner. I took my mother in law to help me with one because I was not sure how either one of them would do in the pool this year. Well they both love it. Turner did great --- he splashed, smiled, and just had a great time. Maggie did great also. She is pretty brave with her floaties on. I didn't get many pics but I had to have some to document this first in Turners life.
