Maggie turns 4!

Maggie's birthday is the 22nd.  It was the last day of school before their Thanksgiving break.  She requested waffles for breakfast.  I put candles in her waffle and she thought that was the neatest thing.  Turner gave her a Pinkalicious doll that morning before school.  She had to take it to school and show it off.  After school we had to go to the doctor for her 4 year check and also so they could both get flu shots.  I know its terrible that I took her on her birthday but that day just worked out the best.  She weighed 36.4 lbs (50%), 39 inches tall (35%), and her first blood pressure check was 96/54.  She passed her vision and hearing test and checked out great.  So then it was the dreaded 5 shots she had to have.  She kept asking if she had to have shots and I said "I don't know ask the doctor".  She didn't take them very well ---- we had tears, tears, and more tears.  Then it was Turners turn.  He had to get his flu shot while we were there.  He never made a peep.  All afternoon Maggie cried if you even looked at the shots or mentioned them.  So we came home and opened another birthday present.  She got a Cinderella Barbie.  Maggie and I had a dinner date that night.  We took Turner to Mimi's house and we went and ate hibachi.  I wish we had had a more entertaining cook but it all turned out good.  She requested steak and shrimp.  When they came out with the drums and ice cream to sing she just about crawled under the table.  It was really special to have a Mommy/Daughter dinner together.    When we got home Jackson had dropped off another present on the front porch.  It was perfect timing because it was Pinkalicious PJ's and a Silverlicious book.  Perfect present for bedtime.

Happy Birthday sweet Maggie!  It is hard to believe that 4 years has come and gone.  I will never forgeth the 26 hours I layed in bed and waited on you to arrive. We have been through some tough times together but you are my little trooper.  I love you so much!  I hope we have a wonderful year together!

Pinkalicious the Musical

Sunday November 20 we went to see Pinkalicious the Musical.  One night while I couldn't sleep I found this online and also noticed that it was the only time that they were doing this play.  It was the day after Maggie's Pinkalicious party so I thought it was perfect timing.  Maggie, Mom and I went Sunday afternoon.  The boys had to stay home and watch football and take naps.  This was a very cute little musical and it followed very close to the book.

After the play the cast came out and signed the playbills.  Mom just happened to have one of her birthday invitations in her purse so we had the cast sign that too.  Maggie really enjoyed it!  Perfect timing for Pinkalicious!

Pinkalicious meets Fancy Nancy

Maggie's 4th birthday party was Pinkalicious meets Fancy Nancy.  We love pink around here but we also like to get fancy.  The girls got jewelry, crown and a wand and the boys got a top hat, tie and a magic wand.  Maggie and Turner got a swing set for their birthday so Poppy and I put that together the day before so that we could have that to play on.  We did lots of playing outside!  We came in to blow out the candles and grab a cookie or something pink to eat and then they were out again to play.  Each child got to make a handprint snowman ornament.  It was lots of fun --- thanks mom and dad for helping so much.  We had a great birthday party.  Thanks everyone!

Annual Christmas Parade

Every year the Rowlett Christmas Parade is on the Saturday of Maggie's birthday.  So this year Poppy and I took the kids to the parade.  We visited the petting zoo before the parade began.  Then we met up with Emily and her kiddos.  The girls had a great time being together.  There was a few times (the motorcycles) when Turner came leaping out of the wagon into Poppy's arms.  All in all they got plenty of candy and had a great time.  Babe stayed at home to get ready for the birthday party.

Got to love the fake smile we have now in quite a few pictures.
This little guy was a mess after eating candy the entire time we were watching the parade.
Maggie finished up the morning by opening up a few presents.
