Who Knew?
Who knew that Downtown Hope had such great places to take pictures? I didn't but we decided to go and try to get some good pictures at least some of Turner for his 1 year old pictures. I think we had some success and I am very excited about the way that they turned out. Maggie on the other hand was not in the mood and we couldn't even bribe her with ice cream to smile. So I decided not to push it and just focus on Turner this time around.
Snow Day 2011
We were blessed with all this white stuff when we got out of church. It was so pretty falling and covering every surface. I love to watch it snow!!! Maggie and Turner were just itching to get outside and play in it. We bundled up and Maggie went out --- Turner had to get a nap first. After his nap he was very ready to get outside. I wasn't real sure where I was going to put him down outside since he is not walking yet. So we got the car and I pushed him around in the snow. Our wagon was already in the yard and it was full of snow. He quickly got his gloves off so he could feel the snow and taste it too. Maggie tried helping me make a small snow man. My hands were freezing!!! We came in and made snow ice cream. It brought back memories of being little. Maggie and Turner both loved it!! Who wouldn't love some snow, sugar, vanilla and milk? We had lots of fun playing together.
Hey mom look its a triangle!

I will do it myself!
I had really forgotten how frustrating this "I will feed myself" stage is with little ones. Turner is now in that stage. If the food requires a fork or spoon he wants to hold it. Even when the food does not require a fork or spoon he wants one. When he takes it from you he gets this smile on his face and the spoon or fork is held up high so you can see he has it. Then the food is flung to the floor. If we had dog it would be a very fat dog who wouldn't have to have dog food. It is frustrating when I am trying to feed him something that is so messy. He is a very insistent child. He will scream at you until he gets it and when he gets it he smiles. Such a little cutie! Maggie will sometimes try and help him get it on his fork --- so sweet to watch.
I got the fork!!
Open Wide
Maggie loves to help with Turner. She loves to feed him, change him and sometimes play with him. This morning she wanted to feed him oatmeal while I cleaned up the kitchen. It is so nice to have a little helper. Turner thinks it is funny when she helps. He will just laugh and turn and look at me and just smile!!! Maggie also likes to help with diaper duty. She likes to do the "tapes" as she says. She will always tell you when he has a dirty diaper and will sometimes help clean him up. I hope that she is always this helpful and I hope that Turner will always allow her to help.
Is it time to get up?
One morning when I went in Turner's room to get him he was looking out the window when I walked in. I thought it was so funny. I guess he was checking to see if the sun was out that day or if it was still dark. Now we ask him to look out the window and he will go over to the corner of the bed and pull back the curtains. He thinks it is so funny. So sure when I went to get the camera he wouldn't really do it but it was still very cute. Maggie thinks it is so funny to ask him to look out the window. Maggie loves to be the one to open the door when Turner wakes up. If she hears him she will drop what she is doing to go and open the door. She will get pretty upset if I hear him and open the door first.
More Artwork
For Christmas Santa brought Maggie some are supplies to go with her art easel. It included paints, brushes, chalk, paper and dry erase marker. She has had this easel for a while and really loves to use it. So she had been begging to get out the paints. One afternoon while Turner was sleeping we decided to get it out and let the little Picasso go to work. She had a great time and really enjoyed painting!!!

Maggie's writing
Maggie has always loved to draw so we decided to practice writing her name the other day. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with her skills so far. She did just turn 3. I was so proud that I had to get the camera so that we would always remember this!!! Good Job Maggie!!! You made mommy proud!!!!
