18 Months Old

18 months has come and gone so fast. He is just growing up before my eyes. Turner is such a sweet, loving little boy. He does have his moments of pay back for Maggie. Sorry Maggie --- I told you he was going to grow up one day. When we went for our 18 month check up he weighed 27 lbs (75%) and 32 3/4" (75%). He is a solid little boy and he loves to be held. I am getting stronger by carrying him around all the time.

He started walking at 17 months. He started taking steps around Easter and from then he just took off. He is doing great and not really falling a whole lot.

He has 6 teeth. He has all 4 molars and his top front 2 are coming in. He likes to do things in his own time. When he smiles real big it looks like he is missing his partial. All you see is gums and two molars. He is still a doll even with no teeth.

He loves to eat. He will just about eat anything. One of his favorites is a PB&J. Both of my kids love them and it is such an easy lunch to pack for school. He loves hot dogs, bread, strawberries, blueberries, eggs, pancakes, broccoli, beans of any type, just about any types of meat. He loves his milk! He is a milk drinker and will also drink water. When he gets juice he thinks he is in heaven!

He doesn't say many words. He can say momma, mag, wa wa (he uses that word for milk and water), bye bye, cheese (for pictures), thank you ( he has said it a few times but he signs it more often), he said something the other day for pop pop (pacifier) and Mimi said he said baby yesterday. That is the area that my doctor is most concerned about. I believe that he will start when he wants too. He signs a little and points and grunts more than anything. He rubs his little fingers together for his lovie. We are working on more and more words. Maggie and I just need to stop giving in to his grunts and pointing.

He is still sleeping like a charm! He goes down between 7 and 7:30 and I don't hear a peep from him until between 7:15 and 7:30am. He wakes up before then but he plays in his bed and occupies himself for a while. He still takes 2 naps a day some days and others he takes just one long nap. He is very easy to lay down. I ask him to go find pop pop and lovie and he will go get them. When I pick him up to go to his room he starts waving to whoever is in the room. I lay him down and he blows me a kiss. He is so different from his sister.

He loves to play with Maggie but we are having to work hard on sharing and not throwing. If he gets frustrated or angry he will throw whatever is in his hands at you. We loves to play outside and swing, swim, or play with the balls. He doesn't play alone very often but when he does he is taking care of business.

Turner you are growing up so fast but I love every moment and every day I spend with you. You are a little doll. I hope you are always as sweet as you are today! I love you with all my heart. At the Dr's office for his 18 month check up.

They had to eat a snack to keep them occupied while we waited.

Oh how I love that smile!!! He has started saying "cheese" when I take a picture.

He was messy from dinner but he was just so happy!

Swimming Lessons

Maggie took swimming lessons again this year from Ms. Harriett. She is just wonderful. Maggie did great last year and so I knew she would love it this year. You are not allowed to stay and watch. You drop them off and then leave for the 45 minute lesson and on the last day you can stay and watch them perform. By the end of the first week they are jumping off the diving board. If you know Maggie she has very little fear -- which is another reason we are taking lessons. Maggie's friend McKenlie was in her class so it was lots of fun to get to swim with a friend that you already know. She did great this year! I am so proud of you Maggie!Waiting her turn

First Dance Recital

Darby Kate had her first dance recital! My parents kept Maggie and Turner after Memorial Day weekend so I could come back and work and then come back the next weekend and watch Darby Kate. I would not have missed it for anything. I was so very proud of her --- she was not shy at all. She got on stage and danced her heart out. I wonder where she got it from???? Maggie and Turner did great watching them. It was good that Darby was on stage first because it was so hot in that auditorium! After her dance we went to Trevor's and ate pizza. Great job Darby Kate!!! We were so proud of you!

Maggie would love to be a ballerina!

Best friends!

Darby was showing me her dance moves. and Maggie was doing them also.

The chase is on! Jorgia is such a little mother to Nurner (as she calls him). Love that little girl!

Pizza for dinner.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend we were in Hot Springs at Babe and Poppy's Lake house. Every year we have a group of friends over to watch the fireworks and eat dinner together. I guess its a new tradition. This year since Trevor and Jodi sold their Lake House they stayed with us there in the Loft. It was so fun to be together and I really enjoyed getting to spend lots of time with my nieces. I got lots of time with Darby and Jorgia and truly enjoyed it. Jorgia has started calling Turner "Nurner". It is just precious. We went out on the lake and I got to tube with the Maggie and Darby. Then we went swimming and both girls held on to me for about 1 hour in the water while Trevor chased us around the boat being the "monster". It was lots of fun! We saw the fireworks and the Ramsey and Jennings crew came to watch and have dinner too. It is always great fun we we get together. I guess its like old times - we always got together and played when we were little. Monday we got the kiddos dressed alike and tried to take pictures. We really did get some great ones. It was a great weekend. Turner helping Babe get ready for company.
