Turner and Mommy's Birthday

We celebrated Turner's birthday on my birthday this year.  We had a little family party for him and then mom cooked dinner for me. Trevor's family came over and we let him open his new electric jeep and drive it around before it got too dark outside.  When we came inside we decorated cookies that we had made.  Mom got some markers with edible ink so they could write on the cookies and also made some different colored icing.  We also made mom a hand print tree with all the grand kids hand prints.  It turned out super cute --- thanks Pintrest!  We had cake and blew out candles.  Then we opened presents.  Turner got lots of trucks and books.  On a funny note Darby told mom "not too many people came to Turner's party."  She didn't know it was only a family party.  Too funny!

Mom cooked a beef tenderloin for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous!  Thanks for a great birthday!

School Program and Parties

Maggie had her Christmas program at school on the Wednesday before school was out.  She did great.  She stood up there and sang her heart out.  She knew most of the motions to the songs and also all the words.  I was so proud of her.  The little girl beside her cried the entire time and Maggie never let it distract her.  Mimi came with Turner and I to watch her.  It is so special to have Mimi there to do things like that with me.  The next day was her Christmas party with her class.  Lala got to attend that party.  That was very special that she got to come to her party.  Maggie had told everyone in her class that Lala was going to be at her party.  So when we got there everyone knew who Lala was.
She looks pretty prissy up there.  That is her best friend Parker in front of her and her friend Jobie beside her.

Annual Day at Northpark

Every year we spend a whole day at Northpark seeing and doing the fun things that they have all around the mall at Christmas time.  This year Nicole, Harper and Hudson joined us for the fun.  First we had our picture made with Santa.  After pictures we were all hungry.  I think the kiddos were starving --- they were eating everything they could find for snacks.  So we went to PF Changs with 4 kids.  We got a big booth so we could block them in and we got out our phones.  They really did pretty good.  After lunch we went upstairs to see the trains.  They are amazing.  It was a race to see who could push the buttons first.  You know everyone wants to be FIRST.  When we left the trains we passed an ice cream place that my kiddos had to stop at.  Maggie chose chocolate and so I made them split it.  Chocolate was not the right choice for not staining our clothes.  Maggie was very intent on finding the fuppets (puppets).  It is a scrooge puppet that is so rude and mean but she likes to watch him every year.  We ran to catch him because we were not waiting another hour to watch him and I didn't want to hear about the fuppets any longer.  Nicole and I took turns keeping kids out in the middle of the mall while the other ran into a store and looked really quick.  By 3:30 my feet were hurting and my kids were cranky!  Turner was asleep before we got out of the parking lot.  It was a day full of fun.

Sitting with Santa

We made our annual trip to Northpark to see Santa.  He is a hard Santa to see because you have to get a ticket early in the morning to see him and then you have to wait until your number is called.  Well luckily I have a very close friend who works at Northpark.  I sent her a text about a week before we went and she got me a ticket and put a management name on it.  It was waiting in the office when we went.  Nicole and her kids went with us --- I went and got the tickets and they got us to the front of the line (I almost felt bad for the people waiting behind us), the real photographer came out and took the pictures, and then we got a free 5x7.  I was a very happy mommy.

We have had our picture made with this same Santa for the past 5 years.  We will continue as long as he is there.  I never knew I would have a picture with a child screaming.  But this was the year.  Turner is not a fan of Santa.  We took his Ho Ho with him which he loves --- but its not the same as the real Ho Ho.  I felt the grip get stronger and stronger the closer we got to him.  After a few pics Santa said " You can come get him".  Maggie told him what she wanted "a barbie" and also told him what she wanted for Santa to bring to Turner "a car".  Thanks for thinking of your brother Maggie.
