Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was pretty low key for us.  We staying in Dallas and just hung around the house.  Nicole and Scott had a little get together (Harper's 1/2 birthday) on Sunday afternoon.  Tessa came and so we all got to hang out together and watch the kiddos play.  Nicole had a bounce house that was lots of fun!  We tried to get a group picture of the kids but that was just impossible.  Katy (Nicole's sister) made some fabulous looking and tasting cupcakes and cakes.  She is so very talented!

They have so much fun in this little truck.
Olivia was not a fan of the bounce house but she could really drive that truck!

Bee Party

This weekend we had a Bee Polite party at Sherry's house.  It was lots of fun.  We had a few games where they had to act out the feeling that that they picked off the table.  Then we decorated bee hives with stickers.  Both of my kiddos loved playing with stickers.  We had lunch which was ham, carrots, cheese and little gold fish.  It was great.  Before we went out all the kiddos got a little pillow pet bee.  Again -- my kids loved that.  We went down to a little sitting area in the neighborhood to take pictures.  They all dressed in yellow, black and white so they all pretty much matched in some way.  They did pretty good --- as good as picture session can go.  We went back to the house for cupcakes and sweets.  We all had a great time!  I love our little play dates together.

Shaving Cream Fun

I have been sucked into Pintrest.  I saw this little activity on there and so I decided that we would try it.  So we went to Walmart and got some shaving cream and food coloring.  I had told Maggie earlier that we would do a craft when Turner got up from his nap.  We got home from Walmart and got all the stuff ready.  Maggie looked at me so serious and said "Mom is this our craft?" I said yes Maggie you will have lots of fun and she did indeed.  They painted the walls for a while but then began to paint themselves and each other.  Turner was not a fan of having his hair painted with shaving cream.  They played about 1 hour before it was time to fill the tub with water and get cleaned up.  It was a very easy clean us too.

He really wanted me to hold him but I refused due to him being covered in shaving cream.

First Day of School

The first day of school was a roller coster of emotion for me. I woke up early to get ready for work and make lunches before they got up .  They slept longer than I anticipated.  So the rush began.  I asked what they wanted for breakfast and oatmeal was the winner.  Once it was made no one wanted to eat it.  Ok so it is the first day of school --- lets make something else.  Everything I made or suggested was not accepted from the two little ones.  So now it was time to get ready. Lets just say when Mom called to check on us and say "Happy 1st day of school" I was sweating bullets.  So we got it together and it was time for pictures.  They did so good.  I was very proud of both of them.  We got to school and lets just say we had an arm full.  We put Turners things on the hook and went to go into class.  Turner ran in to meet Ms. Alli and I watched with the camera ready.  Then the tears came down.  I had to get away.  He did so good and it just made me so proud.  He is growing up.  (I am tearing up as I write this.) So luckily Ms. Dretha was near me and took me and Maggie and told me that it was all going to be ok.  Maggie said "Mom why do you have tears in your eyes?" and Dretha responded with "they are happy tears and you are growing up".  So Maggie looked at me and said "Mom you can't cry in my class."  So I dried up the tears and took her to her class.  She was so sweet.  She gave Shaylene a hug and then went and met Ms. Patti. I am very excited for her ! She is going to have a great year.
