Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago when we were in Hot Springs I met Trevor in Bismark so that Darby could come and stay and play with us on Saturday and Sunday.  We decided that we were going to go to Malvern and go to the Family Farm Pumpkin Patch.  We had a blast!  There was a hay ride, train ride, hay maze, slides, swings, pumpkins, paddle boats, and much more.  We tried to enjoy bit of it.  The kids had a great time with the petting zoo.  The camels were a big hit!  We rode on the hay ride, trains and then got our face painted.  I think it was Turner's first face paint.  He did great.  Then it was time to ride the horse.  Darby jumped right on and Maggie and I walked beside her as they walked around the area.  Then it was Maggie's turn and she loved every minute of it.  Turner was not a fan and only had his picture made on the horse --- he would not ride.  Then it was time to pick out our pumpkins.  Everyone picked out great pumpkins --- even the big kids (parents) got to pick one out. We had to catch a swing on the way out of the patch.

Artist

Shaylene kept the kids one afternoon after school.  When I went to pick them up they both ran to their art work to show me what they painted.  They were both so proud of it.  Maggie told me all about the colors that she used and Turner just kept pointing and saying Ay Ay (that's his own language).  He was so proud and he knew exactly which one was his and which one was Maggie's. She dated the back and let each one sign their painting.  They are originals for sure!  Shaylene is so creative and I love when she rubs some of that creativity off on my kids. 

My Little Cubbie

Maggie started going to Awanas this year at Lake Point in Rockwall.  I was not real sure how she would do being that she didn't know anyone!  She has done so good and met lots of new friends.  She was so excited about getting her vest.  The night that she got it they invited parents to come watch them receive their book and vest.  I had Turner with me and he was just a ring tail tooter to say the least!  She has done so good every week saying her verse over and over until she knows it very well.  I have just been a proud mommy! 

1st Real Manicure

Maggie loves to have her nails painted but has never gotten to go to a real salon and have them painted.  So one morning while I went to get a pedicure she went and got to get a manicure.  She was so excited.  She picked out her color --- none other than PINK.  She sat very still and waited while I got my toes done.  She asked lots of questions and was very curious about everything going on in the shop.  Next it was her turn.  She sat perfectly still and understood the lady when asked to move her hands to the fan or to just relax her fingers.  The little lady gave her a flower on her thumb which she thought was fabulous.  It was worth all $7.00 that they charged. 

Pintrest Addiction

I know Pintrest has been around for a little while but I have just gotten addicted to it.  I love all the ideas on there.  I wondered if I would just look at the ideas and say how cute they were or if I would really follow through and make some.  Well to my surprise I have been trying to be crafty lately.  It has really been lots of fun.

 We made these little footprint ghosts.  I took it to Shaylene the next day at school and ask her to write on it and put the date on it.  I may be crafty some days but my handwriting is not that pretty --- ever.

 These little peanut butter energy balls are fantastic.  We have all loved them. 

 We made fall hand print trees since it is the beginning of fall.

 Maggie, Mom and I made these pumpkins this past weekend to go on the front porch. 

 For lunch we had mummy dogs.  Maggie looked at it and said "Can I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich please."  Oh well they were good.  Turner and I enjoyed them.

This was one of our first Pintrest ideas we tried.  Painting with colored shaving cream.  It bought us an hour of fun.  That is a long time to keep them interested in one thing.

Alfonsina helped me make this Turkey shirt that we saw on there.  It turned out very cute and colorful!  I can't wait for her to wear it.

My Little Gymnast

I realized today that I had not done a post on Maggie and one of her favorite things that she is doing these days.  Its gymnastics!  She loves it!  She is in a class with about 4 little girls.  Her coach is Mr. Jason and he is just awesome with them.  They are learning to follow instructions, coordination, balance and to do little obstacle courses.  Its really fun to watch them.  There is a room upstairs where all the parents and little kids go to watch and wait.  They also do homeschooling there for the very dedicated gymnast that work out and practice many many hours a day.  It has been lots of fun to watch her grow and develop.

13 years ago......

We had a mini 13 year friend reunion at Emily's house a few weekends ago.  Blair had sent everyone a message and wanted us all to get together.  Well it worked out that Blair went back to Virginia the day before we could all get together.  Thanks Blair helping us make it happen but sorry you were not there.  Lauren was in from CA for about 3 weeks with her new baby Griffin, Erin came in from Fayetteville with her new baby Finley, Nikki came from New Boston with her two kiddos and we met at Emily's house who has 2 boys.  We had a lunch/afternoon of playing with our kids and just catching up.  We went home around 5 and dropped off kiddos.  We all met back up at Emily's without kids later that night and had a great time! It is so fun getting together and just catching up in person.  We are hoping to get together again soon so I hope that we can get more friends to join us.
