I'm with Miller!

It was a very sad situation and very sad but necessary visit to Fayetteville. Thursday June 23, 2011 Miller McNeil Woodruff went to heaven. I was on my way to a meeting when I read the news. It was an absolutely heartbreaking situation. Millers mom is a great friend and one of my best friends all my life. The funeral was on Tuesday and and I knew that there was no way that I could make it and then get back to Dallas. So I decided to leave Friday night after my meeting and head to Hope. Saturday morning I got up and headed to Fayetteville. I stayed with Erin, Wes and Finley. I was excited to get to meet Finley for the first time.

We had lunch with Sarah and her family. I don't think I have seen her in about 10 years. It was great to get to meet her children. After lunch we went home, chatted for a while and then decided we could all use a nap. We went over to Meredith's later that afternoon. It was really good to see her, Patrick and Cole. We all shared a glass of wine and Meredith shared Millers story with us. It was heartbreaking. I was so proud of Meredith --- she was so strong. Erin and I took turns playing with Cole and he showed us his room. I really am so glad that I didn't wait to see Meredith. What a special friend. We went and got Wes and Finley and had dinner together.

Sunday morning I got up bright and early and headed home to get my two kiddos. It was a very quick visit but worth every minute. Me and Finley

Erin and I with our "I'm with Miller" hats on. Meredith's dad Buddy designed these hats that have been distributed across the United States. Miller really touched so many people in his few months here with us.
