Maggie and Turner stayed at Babe and Poppy's after Memorial Day weekend and I came back to Dallas for a few days of quiet --- well work and Dr's appointments but you get the picture. So when I went back to Hot Springs to pick them up Maggie had a fishing pole out that Trevor had given her for Christmas. Poppy went and bought worms and we went to the dock and fished. I didn't really think we would catch anything on this little Barbie pole but I was wrong. She caught 3 fish that morning. She was very proud of herself! We had a great time even if it was all tangled up and wouldn't reel in. Oh well we got the fish to the dock.
Turner and Maggie spotted a tiny turtle under the boat. So Babe and Turner brought us a net to catch it in and a bucket to put it in. Mommy caught the turtle but there was no way I was touching it. Maggie had no problem picking it up and holding it. Turner wanted to but just couldn't bring himself to do it. He held it once and it started crawling and he threw that turtle across the sidewalk. It was so funny to see his expression. Maggie was determined to bring it back to Dallas. I had other plans for the turtle. I told her that his mommy was looking all over for him and we just had to take him back to the lake. It took a little convincing but we finally talked her in to painting the shell so we could always find him when we were at the lake. She talked to him and was really sweet to him. Finally after their goodbyes she threw him back in the lake.
I was really impressed how she held the fish, turtle and worms with no problems at all. I have a feeling we will be fishing when we go back to the lake.
He was not impressed with the worm on his leg.
So proud of her first fish.

Fish #2
I told her to give him a kiss. She couldn't go that far.
Painting the turtle.
She said "I really want to touch his head" Oh my I couldn't even hold him.
Turner trying to be brave.
Saying their goodbyes!
As she throws him back in the lake. We watched him swim around for a long time.
