Our Visit to Santa

Every year we go to Northpark Mall to get Maggie's picture made with the same good looking Santa. You have to get there early, get a number, walk around for hours and finally get your picture made. So that is what Maggie and I did this week. We got there about 10:30 and left around 3. All around the mall they have things going on for children so it doesn't make the wait as bad. We got to hear Santa tell a story, Scrooge make fun of people, and look at people making gingerbread houses. We had lunch, watched the ducks, and then shopped a little. Finally after waiting we saw it was time for our number. Only to walk up and find out that Santa was going on his 30 minute break first. So we waited some more with cookies and a drink. When it was our turn and I was carrying Maggie in to see him --- her legs began to clinch around me very tight and tears began to fall. I thought oh great we just waited 6 hours for this --- we are going to get some kind of picture. So I sat beside her and gently slid her to the side until she was sitting in his lap. She didn't cry but she was very nervous. All in all I was proud of my little trooper. Story time with Santa
